Campaigns

What campaigns are, how to create them, and how session history is tracked.

What is a campaign?

A campaign is an ongoing story — a series of sessions set in a particular world, following your character's adventures. Each session builds on the last: the world remembers who you've talked to, what you've done, and what enemies you've defeated.

Creating a campaign

From the dashboard, tap Campaigns → New Campaign. You'll choose:

  • A name — e.g., "The Lost Mine of Phandelver"
  • A world — one of the five launch settings (see Worlds)
  • An adventure — a guided starter module, or Open World improvisation
  • Content mode — PG-13 or Adult (Adult requires 18+)
  • A character — which of your characters joins the lobby

Once created, tap Start Session to begin.

Session history

Every session is saved automatically. From the campaign view, you can scroll back through past session summaries to review what happened. Full session transcripts are available for Adventurer and Pathfinder tier subscribers.

Multiple campaigns

You can run multiple campaigns simultaneously — your character's state is tracked per campaign, so your Wizard can be at 3rd level in one campaign and 7th in another.

Archiving a campaign

If you want to pause a campaign indefinitely, tap Archive from the campaign options menu. Archived campaigns can be reopened at any time; all history and character state is preserved.
